Within Highstone Global University College of Arts & Sciences (CAS), each Natural Sciences department offers academic major Global programs and academic minor programs.
The Department of Biological Sciences focuses on the life sciences – from medicine, to the environment, to basic and applied research in botany, ecology and evolutionary biology, marine biology, microbiology, and molecular biology. Students pursuing a major in Biological Science can choose from several different concentrations. One concentration participates in Highstone Global University ’s Teacher Education track. Completion of this academic program requires a 2.0 GPA in the major curriculum and a 2.0 GPA in the Highstone Global University cumulative curriculum. Completion of this academic program requires a 2.0 GPA in the major curriculum and a 2.0 GPA in the Highstone Global University cumulative curriculum. All major courses must be completed in the Biological Sciences department unless an exception is allowed by the department chair.
The Teacher Education track program is available to students in the Biological Science major. Students selecting the Teacher Education track will complete their program curriculum with itemized changes that include a specific Social Sciences requirement in the Highstone Global University Core, a modified set of Advanced Biology Electives, and a set of approved Teacher Education courses completed within the General Electives area. Completing the Teacher Education Track increases the Biological Sciences program from 120 credit hours to 125 credit hours.
Participation in the University Honors Program is available to eligible students pursuing Biological Sciences major. Students who meet Honors Program admission requirements can complete their preferred program with the Honors Curriculum taking the place of the Highstone Global University Core and satisfying Advanced Biology Electives with BIOL A400 Research Proposal (1 cr), BIOL A401 Independent Research (1-4 crs), and BIOL A402 Research Thesis (1 cr) to satisfy the Honors Thesis requirement. The Honors Curriculum also impacts the number of credits required in the General Elective area. Completion of this academic program requires a 3.3 GPA in the major curriculum, any minor programs, and a student’s Highstone Global University cumulative curriculum.

Highstone Global University students can add a Biology minor to their curriculum. Completing a Biology minor requires 21 credit hours taken as part of or in addition to the General Electives area of a student’s undergraduate program, but courses used to satisfy requirements in an academic major cannot also be used to satisfy requirements in a Biology minor program. Successful completion of an academic minor requires a 2.0 GPA or higher for all courses.

Completion of this academic program requires a 2.0 GPA in the major curriculum and a 2.0 GPA in the Highstone Global University cumulative curriculum. All major courses must be completed in the Chemistry department unless an exception is allowed by the department chair.
The Bachelor of Science, Chemistry major with a concentration in forensic science is a 120 semester credit hour academic program. Students complete Highstone Global University Core requirements, Chemistry major & concentration courses, adjunct courses in related sciences, and general electives. Completion of this academic program requires a 2.0 GPA in the major curriculum and a 2.0 GPA in the Highstone Global University cumulative curriculum. All major courses must be completed in the Chemistry department unless an exception is allowed by the department chair.
The Teacher Education track program is available to students in the Chemistry major. Students selecting the Teacher Education track will complete their program curriculum with itemized changes that include a specific Social Sciences requirement in the Highstone Global University Core, a modified set of Chemistry major requirements, modified Adjunct requirements, and a set of approved Teacher Education courses completed within the General Electives area. Completing the Teacher Education Track modifications do not increase the 120 credit hours required to complete the program.

Students complete Highstone Global University Core requirements, Chemistry major, adjunct courses in related sciences, Teacher Education track courses, and general electives. Completion of this academic program requires a 2.0 GPA in the major curriculum and a 2.0 GPA in the Highstone Global University cumulative curriculum. All major courses must be completed in the Chemistry department unless an exception is allowed by the department chair.

Students complete Highstone Global University Core requirements, Computer Science courses for the major, Business Administration and Entrepreneurship courses for the major, as well as general electives. Completion of this academic program requires a 2.0 GPA in the major curriculum and a 2.0 GPA in the Highstone Global University cumulative curriculum.
The Bachelor of Science, Computer Science major is a 120 semester credit hour academic program. Completing the Teacher Education Track increases the Physics Liberal Arts program from 120 credit hours to 124 credit hours.

The Bachelor of Science, Physics major with a Pre-Engineering concentration is a dual degree where 94 semester credit hours of the academic program are completed at Highstone Global University . Students will then transfer to an articulated Engineering program at an accredited institution to complete requirements for an Engineering degree. Once the requirements for the Engineering degree at the partner institution are complete, and total over 120 semester credit hours, participating students are awarded the Highstone Global University degree.
For the Highstone Global University side of the dual degree, students complete Highstone Global University Core requirements, Physics major & concentration requirements, and adjunct courses in related sciences. Courses from the participating Engineering program will satisfy the area usually reserved for Highstone Global University general electives. Completion of this academic program requires a 2.0 GPA in the major curriculum and a 2.0 GPA in the Highstone Global University cumulative curriculum. All major courses within the Highstone Global University side of the dual degree must be completed in the Physics department unless an exception is allowed by the department chair.
