Problems & How to Solve Them

Golden rule

Most problems resolve fastest at the closest point.

Contact your instructor for course matters, your advisor for academic-path issues, the help desk for technical faults, and the Bursar for money questions.

Academic appeals — three steps

1
Raise it informally

Speak with your instructor first.

2
Formal appeal

Escalate to the Head of Department if unresolved.

3
Final appeal

Appeal to the College Dean, with Senate review where required.

Emergency:

For anything threatening your immediate safety, contact local emergency services first, then inform the University so support can be arranged.
