HGU operates under the legal authority of HGI Initiative Ltd (UK Company Number 17198624) and maintains active pursuit of international quality assurance recognition. All programs are designed to meet or exceed international standards for distance and online higher education.

Delivery Model

All academic programs are delivered primarily through Online Learning Management Systems (LMS) with comprehensive digital resources, recorded lectures, interactive discussions, and assessments. On-Site components (laboratories, clinical practicums, design studios, fieldwork, and capstone presentations) are available Terms and Conditions Apply based on program requirements, student location, and partnership arrangements with affiliated institutions.

Academic Calendar

HGU operates on a continuous enrollment model with four academic terms per year: Spring (January), Summer (May), Autumn (September), and Winter (November). Students may enroll in any term. Each term spans 12 weeks of instruction plus 2 weeks of examination and assessment.

Assessment & Grading

Student performance is evaluated through a combination of continuous assessment (40%) and terminal examination (60%). Assessment modalities include: written examinations, research papers, project reports, presentations, case study analyses, portfolios, and capstone projects. The grading scale follows the standard 4.0 GPA system with the following classifications:

Research & Dissertation Requirements

Master's and Doctoral programs require completion of a supervised research thesis or dissertation. Bachelor's programs culminate in a Capstone Project. All research must adhere to HGU's Research Ethics Code, including plagiarism screening, institutional review board approval where applicable, and publication standards.

Transfer Of Credits & Articulation

HGU recognizes prior learning and accepts transfer credits from accredited institutions subject to transcript evaluation, course equivalency review, and a maximum transfer limit of 50% of program credits. Credit-by-examination and portfolio assessment for prior experiential learning are available for select programs.

Graduation Requirements

To qualify for graduation, students must: (a) complete all prescribed credit hours with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 (C); (b) fulfill all capstone, thesis, or dissertation requirements; (c) settle all financial obligations; (d) complete any required on-site practicum components; and (e) submit a graduation application at least one term before intended conferral.
