01
Single institutional reference
Introduction & Purpose
This guide is the single reference for how Highstone Global University presents itself
in print, online, on certificates, and in correspondence.
Its purpose is not decoration—it is trust. A prospective student, partner institution,
accreditor, staff member, or contractor should be able to recognize authentic HGU
materials consistently without reinventing established choices.
Who this guide is for
- Staff producing official documents, letters, or forms
- Designers and contractors building web, print, or signage assets
- Regional and Continental offices issuing local correspondence
- New departments or colleges producing materials for the first time
Authority
Where this guide conflicts with an individual document, this guide prevails.
New use cases not covered here should be referred to the Office of International
Program Director before improvising.
02
Authority and distinction
Colour Palette
HGU Navy carries authority. HGU Gold carries distinction. Every supporting colour
exists to reinforce that pairing rather than compete with it.
HGU Navy — Primary
#1B2A5E
Headlines, headers, seals, and primary text on light backgrounds.
HGU Gold — Primary
#C9A84C
Accents, dividers, certificate borders, and calls to action.
Deep Gold
#9C7A2E
Master's-tier accent; PhD ribbon and engraving colour.
Burgundy
#7A2E3A
DProf-tier accent for professional doctorates.
Ink
#1F2937
Body text throughout formal documents.
Slate Grey
#5B6473
Captions, footers, and secondary text.
Parchment Cream
#FBF8F0
Certificate and letter backgrounds—never pure white.
Table Tint
#F3F4F6
Alternating rows and subtle section backgrounds.
Never do this
- Do not substitute a brighter or different blue or gold.
- Do not use small gold text on white where contrast is insufficient.
- Do not use pure black for body text; use Ink #1F2937.
03
Chosen by medium
Typography
HGU uses distinct type systems by medium. They should not be mixed arbitrarily within
the same document.

Two marks, two purposes
The University Seal
HGU carries two marks that serve different purposes. They should never be merged into a single graphic.
HGU
INSTITUTIONAL
SEAL
The Institutional Seal
The primary University mark. It appears on letterhead, cover pages, and as a watermark
on formal documents. Minimum size: 0.5 inch diameter, with clear space equal to 25% of its diameter.
ORIGINAL
SEAL
MEDALLION
The Original Seal
Used only on documents certifying an award or official act, including degree certificates,
admission letters, honorary conferments, and the RPL certificate.
Seal restrictions
- Do not recolour the institutional seal.
- Do not stretch or distort either mark.
- Do not use the Original Seal on non-certifying documents.
- Do not add a third seal or partner/accreditor logo alongside HGU's marks.
05
One identity, increasing distinction
The Tiered Certificate System
Every HGU award shares one identity but increases in ornamentation with the qualification level.
Tier 1 — Certificate · Diploma · Associate Degree
Double border, modest gold ornament, restrained typography.
Tier 2 — Bachelor's · Postgraduate Diploma
Triple border—the standard degree presentation.
Tier 3 — Master's Degree
Triple border plus secondary accent bar and deeper gold tone.
Tier 4 — PhD · DProf
Quadruple border and the largest seal/type treatment. PhD uses gold; DProf uses burgundy.
Signature block standard
Vice Chancellor on the left and President on the right only. The Registrar signs admission letters and transcripts, not certificates.
06
Titles are not interchangeable

Board of Trustees President; certificate co-signatory; deputizes ceremonially for the Chancellor only in the Chancellor's absence.

Vice Chancellor
Chief executive and academic officer; certificate co-signatory; manages the University day to day.
Continental Vice Chancellor

07
Confident, warm, precise
Voice and Tone
HGU writes as an institution that is confident without being cold, and warm without being informal.
Precise, never vague
State facts plainly and accurately rather than replacing them with broad claims.
Warm, never casual
Documents may care about the reader while maintaining institutional formality.
Confident, never boastful
State what HGU is doing; let the substance carry the claim rather than relying on superlatives.
Standing lines to reuse, not rewrite
“Illuminating Minds. Transforming Nations.”
“Registered with the Secretary of State of Texas and in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, USA, holding international accreditations. National accreditation is in process.”
